About Reverend Sarah Margaret

I am Rev. Sarah Margaret Storjohann, a registered NYC wedding officiant and ordained Interfaith Minister, ordained by The New Seminary, the oldest and most prestigious Interfaith Seminary in the world. A resident of Suffolk County, I proudly serve the communities of the Twin Forks of Long Island; Nassau & Suffolk Counties; as well as the five boroughs of New York City, Westchester, Putnam and upstate NY counties; New Jersey, Connecticut, and the surrounding areas.
For me, the key to everything has always been, and always will be, LOVE. Growing up in New York City, I saw my parents divorced at the age of nine. Being raised Roman Catholic, this was frowned upon and I was now considered “different” in the eyes of the church. In watching my parents’ respective struggles to get remarried to their soulmates, I vowed that LOVE would always be my reasoning and impetus behind everything.
My journey has taken me through an undergraduate degree in psychology and theatre from Binghamton University, as well as an M.F.A. in acting from The Actors Studio Drama School. In August of 2019, I received my Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in Expressive Arts Therapies from Lesley University. I continually endeavor to combine my passion for the artistic, spiritual, and psychological realms into a deeper, more complete practice.
Having always believed, as an actress, that every character I portray has the capability to help people on their journey, my path as a thespian led me on a National Tour, several off-Broadway shows, various Broadway cast recordings, and numerous NYC showcases. While knowing what an actor/actress/artist goes through on a daily basis instilled in me the desire to spiritually counsel the artist on his/her respective journey, it was ultimately my belief in the Divine Power of LOVE which led me to my current path and ministry, creating Lasting Footprints for every couple I encounter.
Believing in the Divine Power of LOVE, as well as the concept of Interfaith (the belief that, underneath it all, we are all One with God/Goddess/All There Is), I offer a unique perspective when creating ceremonies. My friends, colleagues, mentors and spiritual guides come from all walks of life (theatre circles, the LGBTQ community, pagan, Wiccan, polyamorous, Christian, Jewish, Buddhist, Muslim, Hindu, just to name a few); the one thing we all have in common is LOVE – Love for one another, love for this planet, love for life, love for LOVE.
